I'm going to paint it so in the end it will look just fine and will last a long time. I know some purest will not like this but I would have made a mess with a torch and for me now it just isn't worth the chance of ruining the gun. I broke out the torch and practiced soldering and found out that I not so good and decided to use JB weld to attach the new front sight and repair the barrel. I remember reading one of Tim's post about how much of a pain it was to clean Pelgun oil out of old guns and now I know what he was talking about. The tear down went pretty good except for the hammer being damaged and getting all the gunk out of the gun. I really don't want to replace it because it's the one the gun came from the factory with. I stained everything and I'm going to glue the forearm before I rub it with poly. The forearm has a crack that I'm going to have to deal with. I washed the stock with water to keep the stripper from getting in all the tight places. It didn't have to sit long before the paint bubbled up and came off really easy. The stock had been painted and I had to use a stripper on it.
